Le ‘compromis’ de 1330 entre Gênes et Chypre et la guerre de course dans les eaux chypriotes

Le pape Jean XXII rappelle la suite des négociations qui ont mis fin au conflit entre Gênes et le royaume de Chypre et promulgue le compromis intervenu entre les deux parties au sujet des dommages infligés aux Génois et aux sujets du roi sous prétexte des violations de l’interdit du commerce avec les pays du Sultan en instituant une taxe levée à Chypre sur les marchandises pour dédommager les plaignants dont il donne la liste.

The 1330 compromise Genoa - Cyprus and the privateering war in the cypriot water

Pope John XXII, after relating the negociations ending the conflict opposing Genoa and the King of Cyprus, promulgates the compromise reached between them about the damages inflicted to the Genoese and Cypriot merchants on the pretext of violating the interdict of trade with the Sultan’s territories, which establishes a tax in order to compensate these damages, giving the list of the beneficiaries of this tax
