La capilla de la nación genovesa en Cádiz

Durante la restauración de la capilla de la Nación Genovesa de la Catedral Vieja de Cádiz, apareció en el zócalo del retablo una caja marmórea, la primera piedra de la capilla. Contenía en su interior una placa de cobre con una inscripción, aportando valiosos datos sobre la obra y los comitentes, vinculados en 1670 a la colonia genovesa en Cádiz. La restauración se desarrolló con motivo de la Exposición “La imagen reflejada. Andalucía espejo de Europa” (Noviembre 2007 - Enero 2008), efectuada en dicho templo

The Chapel of the Genoese Nation in Cadiz

During the restoration of the chapel of the Genoese Nation in the Old Cathedral in Cadiz, in the base of the altar, it appeared a marble box, the foundation stone of the chapel. Inside it, it was found a copper plate with an inscription reporting important data about the work and the clients, strictly connected in 1670 with the Genoese community in Cadiz. The restoration was carried out because of the Exhibition “La imagen reflejada. Andalucía espejo de Europa” (November 2007 - January 2008), that took place in the Old Cathedral
